Commercial Electrical Specialist, Peter James White Electrical Ltd, completed the electrical element of REMBuild Ltd’s multidisciplinary renovation at Thamesmead School in Surrey, including two Food Technology rooms, utility area and Staff Training room.
In the Food Technology Rooms, Peter James White Electrical Ltd supplied, wired and fitted 12 cookers, 12 hobs and new sockets to the workstations, as well as wiring 9-inch extraction fans within the windows, equipped with corresponding controls positioned at the Teacher’s workstation.
Additionally, emergency stop buttons were fitted so that all electrical supplies within the room, excluding essential equipment (refrigerators, washing machines, teacher-designated sockets etc), could be simply isolated should an incident occur. Accordingly, contactors were fitted to non-essential circuits, therefore allowing quick and easy isolation for emergency purposes. Furthermore, new 8-way TP&N fuseboards were installed in each room, the existing lighting was altered in accordance with the new room layout and supplies to the interactive whiteboards were fitted.
The utility area was supplied with new power to accommodate associated appliances, such as washing machines, refrigerators, freezers etc, stored safely away from the main classroom areas.
The Staff Training Room was fitted with 6 LED baton-lights, including emergency lighting, this electrical upgrade providing a more sustainable, future proof and lower power lighting solution (carbon footprint). Moreover, 2-compartment trunking was installed within all office areas in accordance with the new desk layout and new power was supplied to the kitchenette to accommodate countertop and white-goods appliances, including refrigerators and water heater.
