From consultation and project planning to design and development, Peter James White Electrical Ltd provides end-to-end project management in support of organisations’ growing sustainable-resilience and environmental objectives, assisting with lower-impact electrical innovation to facilitate corporate sustainability targets, policy and framework (Net Zero 2050). One such organisation is St Cuthbert’s RC High School in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.
This extensive project involved a complete lighting-system upgrade to classrooms, offices, corridors, canteen, gymnasium, sports hall, changing rooms (x4), washrooms, drama hall, theatre, music spaces, chapel, plant rooms and boiler rooms for more energy-efficient, durable and cost-effective LED lighting solutions.
As a collaborative project, Peter James White Electrical Ltd extends a professional acknowledgement to UK Lighting Design (UKLD) (in association with Electric Center Manchester) for delivering expert lighting design consultancy services and specifications, including sustainable energy calculations, payback projections and correlating the existing lighting with new LED equivalents.
Working to specification, Peter James White Electrical Ltd fitted sensors for automated, convenient hands-free operation and reduced energy usage (and running costs). Additionally, a new emergency lighting system was installed, integrating new IP20 3w LED emergency downlighting to the office spaces in accordance with regulatory standards, ensuring WEEE compliance procedures were followed in the sustainable disposal and recycling of the obsolete light fittings (Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment).
With widespread commercial application, LED technology – high-performance, high-durability, high-visibility lighting – provides powerful illumination and visibility (Lux) levels in large indoors spaces and demanding environments, such as sporting facilities, gymnasiums and storage spaces (Health & Safety), further enhancing the teaching and learning spaces for the staff and pupils at St Cuthbert’s RC High School.
