Our Lady & St Anselm’s RC Primary School (Whitworth)


As part of WMB Installations Ltd’s development project at Our Lady & St Anselm’s RC Primary School in Whitworth, Commercial Electrician Peter James White Electrical Ltd installed a new power supply and lighting circuit to the new sympathetically-built classroom extension.


This included dado/perimeter trunking to accommodate sockets for desks, emergency lighting and new, more environmentally-sustainable LED lighting with accompanying motion-detection sensors, thus reducing the amount of time the lights are in operation (only on when someone is in the room). These future-proof electrical and lighting solutions can help reduce energy consumption (carbon footprint) and operating costs, as well as saving the Caretaker from having to go around all the classrooms to switch the lights off at the end of the school day.


Additionally, as part of the school’s electrical upgrade, the existing faulty downlighters were replaced with new LED downlighters in the foyer, illuminating the entranceway and the pupils’ first steps as they enter their educational wonderland: ‘Every adventure requires a first step’ (Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland: 1865).
