At Thamesmead School in Surrey, Peter James White Electrical Ltd was involved in an electrical installation upgrade in accordance with the school’s room restructuring strategy, including the Staff Room, Photocopying Room and the new office, SSR Room and Intervention Room.
In the Staff Room, a new power supply was fitted to the kitchen area, including sockets for appliances, as well as a Zip Hot Water Tap for more sustainable water consumption and energy/waste management. Furthermore, new conduit was fitted above Teachers’ work spaces, incorporating eight sockets to enable Teachers to have a functioning workspace and, in the Photocopying Room, new data points were installed.
The renovation also involved dividing one room into three separate rooms (an office, SSR Room and Intervention Room) and Peter James White Electrical Ltd took the old power supply and trunking back to the Fuseboard and integrated new trunking across the three rooms, including sockets and data points. Each room benefitted from the installation of more energy-efficient, sustainable lighting systems: energy-saving motion sensors were connected to the lighting, thus reducing the amount of time the lights are in operation (only on when someone is in the room) which, consequently, can lower electricity bills, as well as saving the Caretaker from having to go around all of the rooms to switch the lights off at the end of the school day!
