Set in the undulating hills of Denshaw, the picturesque and Eco Award-winning Christ Church, with its architectural uplighting, shines amongst the foliage of the trees and green, lush grounds. Fitted by Peter James White Electrical Ltd, the specialist building-directed uplighting illuminates the architectural features of the church, including the distinctive clock-tower and stained-glass windows.
Granted both the Bronze and Silver Eco Church Award (A Rocha UK Project), this eco-conscious church ‘switched’ to LED lighting as part of a continuing commitment to more sustainable (electrical) practices, alongside safeguarding the welfare of the church’s patrons; three redundant halogen floodlights were replaced with new 30w LED motion-sensor security lights to illuminate the grand entranceway and side-passages, as well as lighting the patrons’ walkway from the church to the carpark, providing a more energy-efficient, durable and longer-lasting lighting solution (less recycling). Likewise, situated in various positions in the grounds of the church, the old halogen building-directed uplights were replaced with new 50w LED warm white equivalents (‘Bell Light’), offering a more environmentally-sustainable, lower-energy lighting option. Furthermore, the old, faulty mechanical timer, which operates the lampposts that light the pathways throughout the grounds, was replaced with a new digital timer, which can reduce operating costs and, with regards to Energy Management, reduces light consumption, energy-waste and environmental impact (Carbon Footprint).
